Camp Cardiac, a camp hosted by UNC medical students for high schoolers interested in medicine, hosted a STB class for their students. The class was led by our instructors, Ben Gold and Logan Butler, and assisted by UNC medical student, Drew Scott. Thanks Ben, Logan, and Drew for teaching local high school students how to control life-threatening bleeding! Approximately 28 students learned how to properly apply pressure, pack a wound, and apply a tourniquet. We hope that these students will never have to use these techniques but also hope that they left the class feeling confident with their new skills. We would also like to say thanks to UNC medical students, Faris Almubaslat and Monal Depani, for inviting us to teach a class at Camp Cardiac!
